Note: If you are a provider who already completed registration for electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) in the past, you may skip identity proofing and EPCS registration and move to the last step, called Logical Access Control (LAC).
To skip Step 2: Identity Proofing and Step 3: EPCS Registration:
1. Click the link on the email you received to begin identity proofing (IDP) with Experian; NPI # and Invite ID fields should pre-populate for you automatically.
2. If the Invite ID does not auto-populate from the email, enter it along with NPI number.
3. Accept the terms of use.
4. Select Use my existing authentication credentials
5. Enter your existing two-factor authentication for electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS):
- EPCS passphrase (password to electronically prescribe controlled substances)
- One-time pin/one-time passcode from either a hard token (physical device) or soft token (app) of your choice
6. Continue on to Step 4: Logical Access Control (LAC)
